各テーマでは
・テンション構造とグリッドシェル：彼が開発した軽量で柔軟な構造体の設計手法。モントリオール万博（1967年）やミュンヘン・オリンピック公園（1972年）など

・自然からの着想：植物の構造や生物の形態を建築に応用する「バイオミミクリー（生物模倣）」的アプローチ。
　デジタル設計以前に、模型制作を通じて構造の最適解を導き出していました。
